About Carly's Wish

Carly Fisher 1979-1995

My daughter Carly Fisher died at the age of 16 of an acute asthma attack in 1995. Carly was a lovely, loving and caring young woman. It is in her memory and spirit that I have created this line of jewelry.

All profits from the sale of Carly's Wish Jewelry will go to help fund breast cancer research.

How the Jewelry is Made

I hand-sculpt each original piece out of fine silver PMC (Precious Metal Clay) at actual size. PMC is pulverized fine silver mixed with a bonding agent and water to make it into the consistency of clay. After I sculpt each piece, I hand work it to make it smooth. After thorough drying, the next step is to fire it at a temperature of about 1500º. This burns away everything but the silver. After firing, the pieces are polished with stainless steel shot and burnishing liquid in a tumbler.

I use the original of each design to make a mold for additional pieces. Although a mold is used, each piece still needs hand finishing. I use a liquid oxidizer to give each piece dark areas that accentuate the design. Once a fine silver piece has been oxidized, I complete it with glass beads, earring backs, etc. I hand-wrap all sterling silver wire parts.

Please ask me any questions you have about the jewelry!
